THE DEVICE
IS ALIVE OR IT IS NOT.
A heartbeat that arrives within the expected window confirms the device is alive. A heartbeat that does not arrive — or arrives outside the temporal envelope — produces a sealed liveness verdict at the substrate. Liveness is a categorical state, not a probabilistic inference.

THE FIDELITY
IS MEASURED.
A device can be alive but degraded — partial transmission, signal anomalies, telemetry drift. Sparrow measures fidelity deterministically and seals the verdict at every heartbeat. Degradation is detected as it develops, not after the field operation has failed.

THE ALERT
IS STRUCTURAL.
Alert fatigue collapses when alerts are probabilistic. Sparrow produces categorical alerts — the device crossed a sealed threshold or it did not. The alert is structural, not statistical. Operators respond to a small number of high-precision signals, not a flood of noise.
